Angel the Mad Scientist

Angel was picked to be the Mad Scientist of the Week and had to give a presentation. She made a poster about Ocean Animals since they had been studying about them. It turned out real cute. She had to talk about it in front of her class. She wore a white lab coat and had her scientist glasses on!! My mom was able to go see her presentation and get pictures and video. She did a great job!

Angel's 6th Bday party

Angel had such a wonderful time today with her friends at her birthday party. We had it at the gymnastics place that she goes to. What fun - they walked on the beam, jumped into the foam pit, flipped, ran, climbed, trampoline, you name it. I am sure they all slept good that night. At the end, the birthday girl got a trophy, which was just perfect, because Angel just told her grandma that she wanted one because Josh has a lot of them!! After about an hour of playtime, we had pizza and cake. And Angel opened her presents. It was a great party and we thank everyone for sharing it with us.

FCC Dinner

Saturday night we met up with local FCC friends for dinner at a local chinese restaurant. It was lot's of fun and we hope to make it a monthly event. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the kids had a blast. We had a craft and coloring for them to do so they were occupied and the adults could chat.

Two years - gotcha day anniversary

Today 2 years ago, I met my daughter in China. What an amazing time this has been. I can't believe two years has passed. Time has flown, yet at the same time, it seems like Angel has been in our family forever. She is such a happy girl and brings so much joy to our lives.

I always get Angel something Chinese related for Gotcha day. This year was two Chinese related books.
My sweet mom got me these flowers for gotcha day.

Angel's 6th birthday!!

Today Angel turned 6 years old. She was so excited - first thing, I heard "I am not 5 anymore, I am 6!

We started out the day wishing Angel a happy birthday. I put a candle on her Toaster Strudel.

She then got dressed in her Birthday Girl shirt! I just love this shirt, even if she will only get to wear it a couple of times.

I took cookies to her class during snack time to celebrate. Her class sang Happy Birthday to her.

Back home in the afternoon, Grandma and Issa arrived so Angel opened her presents. She was really excited for the Pokeman books Josh gave her!

Her face when she saw her bike.

Angel wanted Scooby Doo on her homemade cake. I usually make a cake ob the kids actual birthday and buy one from Publix for their party.

Mother's Day

After church, we attended a Mother's Day Breakfast. Later we headed down to St. Augustine for a little while. We didn't stay very long - didn't want to wear Angel out while she is recovering. But we went to the Oldest School House, the fort, the Oldest Drug Store and of course, had ice cream. It was really hot but fun.

Ringing the bell at the old school

Having a conversation about the "dummies" in the old school house - she did not like them too much, stayed real close to me while in there.
Angel's hair is long enough for a single ponytail now.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day two years ago I was traveling from Beijing to Chengdu with my son in anticipation of meeting my daughter and his sister. We arrived in Chengdu and proceded to eat at a Pizza Hut restaurant that was attached to our hotel. Even though we were in China, they were celebrating Mothers Day by giving all the Mothers a trivit. I thought it was very cool that in China, Mother's were being recognized. The place was packed with families. Not sure if that had anything to do with Mother's Day or not.

Now, two years later, I have this amazing daughter who is the light of my life and a 15 year old son who I am so proud of. I can't imagine my life without them.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's and Mom's to be!!

Ice Cream and friend

We were out running errands and waiting to pick Josh up from his Dad's so we decided to get some ice cream - figured the strep throat girl would like that. We ran into some friends there and Angel was able to run around a bit. Trying to keep her still is not an easy task.

Mother's Day Gymnastics style

looks like it hurts
Tonight at Angel's gymnastic lesson, Mom's were invited to attend class with their daughter. Several of us did attend but none were very daring. We mostly just took picture and cheered them on. It was nice being out there with them instead of looking through the window. Angel was so excited that I was out there with her.
