Halloween 2008

Angel had a great time trick or treating tonight. She dressed like Spiderman, of course. We went around the neighborhood with her friend Ryan, who was also dressed like Spiderman. She really understood what halloween was all about this year, so she really enjoyed it.

Ready to go!!

I've been tagged...

by Carol

1. At my work computer, I must have the programs opened in a specific order. First needs to be Outlook, then Explorer, then IE. After this, I don’t really care about the order If a program gets shut down by mistake and gets out of order, I will eventually shut down all the programs and open them in the “right” order.

2. I have been all the way to China and Europe and have never been to California. I have been on the West Coast (Washington state, Las Vegas) but never to CA. My goal is to get to California in 2009.

3. In college, I had a dog who was a registered Chow Chow. I named him Roman Fu Chu. Roman was just a name I liked and the Fu Chu was after his mom – Chow’s are originally from China. Well I ended up marrying someone named Roman and adopting a daughter from China.

4. I tend to run into people/get to know people with connections to places I have lived/people I have known. While on the Great Wall of China, I saw a girl with a Gate River Run tshirt on. Of course, I asked if she was from Jacksonville. She was and turns out one of the guys she was traveling with worked with another friend of mine. A few years ago, a new employee started working with me. We started talking and it turns out that her parents, for a few years, had lived in the VERY small town that my mom lives in and went to the same church as my mom and knew her. Small world.

5. I lived through a Category 5 hurricane – in Puerto Rico, 1989. Scary – we were without power for a month. I helped the Red Cross feed the military personnel and their families on base.

6. I have a nighttime ritual of watching Friends at 10:00. it is kind of like my signal that the day is winding down.

7. I would love to learn how to decorate cakes, like a professional. When I was a little girl, when we visited my Grandma, I remember looking through her cake decorating books. She was a great baker and could decorate cakes beautifully.

Now I tag:

Stephanie

Susan

Kimberly's B'day party!

Kimberly turned 4 on Sunday and we helped her celebrate. The kids played at a gym and had so much fun. They jumped into a foam pit, swung from the rings, walked on the beam, ran around like crazy. Happy Birthday K!!

After we left the party, we drove over to where the air show was being held, just in time to see the Blue Angels. I love them!!

Fun Pumpkin Party

Saturday we enjoyed a Pumpkin Party at our friends house. It was alot of fun - the girls "bobbed" for donuts, bobbed for apples, played toss and duck, duck, goose. Good food, good fun, great times.

Who says a 5 year old can't vote!!

I decided to vote via absentee ballot this year. I believe the polls are going to be outrageously busy on November 4th. Early voting has already started and those lines have been quite long. This is Angel putting my voting ballot into the mailbox. She has no idea how important this election is...come on change!!!

Happy Birthday Josh!!

I now have a 15 year old!! Unbelievable. We celebrated all weekend. Friday night he had a couple of friends over, we went for Japanese and then they went to the High School football game and back home for cake and ice cream. Saturday night several friends met at Dave and Buster's for food, games and cake. It was alot of fun too. I think he had a good birthday and now, he wants his permit!!

Dr. Angel

The students in Angel's class were asked to dress up as a public servant, ie doctor, bus driver, etc. We borrowed a doctor coat from K. Angel already had a stethescope and some doctor gloves (she has to have a pair everytime we go to the doctor). So off she went, Dr. Angel. She looked so cute.

Fun in the cornfields!!

Today we went with C and K to a "local" cornfield maze - local in quotes since it was about an hour's drive away.
We went on a hayride, a cow ride, played in corn, picked out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and made it through a maze in the cornfields!! Lot's of fun.

We had a little scare tonight!

We went to gymnastics today, just like normal. Angel acted fine. When she finished, she came out to where I was sitting and was coughing and breathing really hard. I thought she would be ok in a few minutes. We left and while driving she kept coughing and I could hear her breathing. So I wheeled into the Solantic parking lot and went in. When they heard her, they took her back immediately and started listening to her cough. They did a breathing treatment immediately and then prescribed an antibiotic, a steroid, Singulair and a medicine to use in the breathing machine. After the breathing treatment, she was feeling much better. She is sleeping peacefully now. I couldn't believe it came on so fast. She hasn't had any issue like this in the past but her brother had the same issues when he was smaller, so I am familiar with the drill.

Who says you can't have fun at a bridal shower?

Angel makes use of some little used toys. We went to a bridal shower for my friend's daughter and it didn't take her long to get bored, so Kathy dug these out of the closet.

Notice her dress. While looking in her closet for something for her to wear, I jokingly told her that she had to wear that dress (it is her Easter dress). She actually wanted to wear it - I couldn't believe it! Normally she is such a tomboy.

Saturday night we were invited to Josh's friend Avan's house for dinner. Avan and his family are Korean and there were tons of people there, so Angel fit right in and Josh and I were the minority that night. Kinda cool. This is Angel with Avan's Mom and little brother.
