Sophie visits

Angel and Sophie hanging out. We watched Sophie for a couple of hours while her Mom went to a meeting.

Angel rode the bus today!

She has been wanting to ride since school started and we finally got up early enough today to make it. She did really well and wants to ride again tomorrow.

Air Force ROTC

Josh is in the Air Force ROTC this year. He has been wanting to join the ROTC for a long time and he loves it. Today was the first time wearing their uniforms and he looks so handsome. He made a 100 on his inspection. He spent hours shining his shoes and it paid off. I am so proud of him.

Dia de la playa

Today we enjoyed meeting some friends at the beach. The girls had a blast. They dug in the sand, ran around, found shells, played in the water a little bit(it was very rough). It is amazing that we live so close to the beach and don't get there enough. It is just so busy but I am hoping things will slow down a bit soon (yeah right).

Shriner's Circus

Today we went to the Shriner's circus. It was good - definitely not Barnun and Bailey - but still good, especially for little kids. Much cheaper and more intimate feeling. It was held at the arena of the local college.

Friday Night Lights!

Not that you can really tell in this picture, but we are at Josh's high school's football game. He has really enjoyed the games this year and Angel and I have attended most of them too. Of course, Josh does not hang out with Mom and Sis, he hangs with his friends. But that's all good - we all have fun. Tonight, Emma and Ellie and their Mom joined us. They live close to us so they also have an interest in the teams. And Ellie cheers so she really enjoyed watching the cheerleaders. We won 47 - 0!!

Autumn Moon Festival

We had a great time at the Autumn Moon Festival hosted by our local FCC group. Lot's of families were there and it was so good seeing everyone. The festival was held at the beach - there was a playground, sand for digging, a splash area, picnic area and the best part is that it was right on the beach. The moon was absolutely beautiful. Angel and Kimberly also flew a kite - a first for Angel.
What a fun and relaxing evening.

The rest of the weekend was spent getting in some last minute pool time and taking Josh and some friends bowling Saturday evening. Of course Angel went too. After attending a birthday bowling party last weekend and then bowling this weekend, she has decided that she wants her next birthday party to be a bowling party!!

Bowling Party

Angel and Josh were invited to a bowling birthday party today. This was Angel's first time bowling. I wasn't even sure if they would have shoes small enough for her but they did. She did great. They had the kids split up by size so her lane did have the bumpers up. She got a strike, which I think was amazing even with the bumpers. Josh did great too - getting several strikes as well.

The shoes.

There she goes.

Angel's first sleepover

Angel just loves our friends, Emma and Ellie. They are both from China also. They are a little bit older than her and just took to her when she came home from China. Well their mom, Barb, has been saying that Angel can sleep over with the girls and tonight is the night. We met them at a restaurant for dinner and Angel went home with them. Josh and I went cosmic bowling - lot's of fun!! I called to talk to Angel after she had been there about 2 hours. She was doing fine but said she missed me. Wow this house feels empty without her!! I will be picking her up in the morning. This is the first time she has been away from me for a night.

All packed up and ready to go.
