Party Weekend

This past weekend we were busy with three birthday parties. The first one was for Zoey, who was turning 5. Zoey (and her little sister) are also from China . The girls had a great time making beaded necklaces and bracelets, then had snacks and cake and ice cream. Some of Angel's other friends were there as well and they all had a blast!! We really enjoyed it.

The second party was Saturday afternoon at Pump It Up. This place is great. There are all of these huge bouncy house type things that are big enough for adults. The kids all had a blast and most of the parents did too!! The party was for Sophie, a little girl we met at the pool with her Mom and the girls hit it off, playing and swimming together. We were helping Sophie celebrate her 4th birthday.

Sunday’s party was for our dear friends Scarlett and Sienna, twins who came home from China about a year ago. They are doing so well. They hosted their party at My Gym, which was wonderful. There were about 20 kids and they all had a blast. Again, lot's of other kids Angel knows so she had a blast. The staff was great as well, interacting with the kids and they actually learned all the kids names. The place was like a small gym with a balance beam, parallel bars, a slide, swing, etc. We were helping S and S celebrate their 4th birthday.

River cruise fun!

For some reason lately, Angel had been wanting to ride on a boat, so today we headed downtown to catch the Water Taxi that runs back and forth across the river. We had fun and it was beautiful. We then had ice cream and listened to a band for a while. Since I don't work downtown anymore, this was a nice change of pace.

Getting Wet

Since Angel has had an ear infection and I want to be really sure she is over it, we have not been swimming. But today we headed out to the backyard to test out one of her birthday gifts, a beach ball type thing that attaches to the hose. Water sprays out of the ball from various holes. It was fun until the thunder and rain came along. But at least we got some time outside.

Cooking up a storm!!

Angel decided to cook while I was cooking. She got her kitchen but has not used it very much. Glad to see she likes it.

So last night I tell Angel to get her pajamas on...now mind you, it is almost the middle of July in Florida. Here is what she comes out with. I couldn't help but laugh - she looked so darn cute. I told her I thought these pajamas would be too hot (they are flannel and footie). She said "but I never get to wear these!!" It was to cute. She finally admitted they would be too hot and changed into her Spider Man pj's.

4th of July and ear infection

We had wonderful plans for the 4th. Our community hosted a pool party with food, bouncy houses and fireworks. Well around 12:30 I noticed some crusty stuff on Angel's ear and she then tells me that her ear hurts - so I call the after hours doctor and he calls in a prescription for ear drops. After picking them up and starting her on them along with Tylenol, she started feeling better. We ended up going to the celebration for a while since she was bouncing off the walls by that point. Of course, no swimming for her but she still had fun on the playground. We stuck around and caught the neighborhood fireworks too. It was really nice to be able to have such a good time right in our neighborhood!!!

Trip to NC

We just returned from NC where we threw a surprise 70th luncheon for my Mom. We really pulled one over on her!!! She had no idea what we were doing. Since I live so far away, I had help from my Aunt Emily and Aunt Barbara and cousin Mary. The party was on Saturday. We went to the local lake to swim on Sunday and Josh and I went to a movie that night. On Monday, we went to my Aunt's house on the Intercoastal for shrimp, etc. Yummy!! Tuesday we stayed around town during the day which included having lunch at our favorite spot, Melvin's. These burgers are to die for and I love that fact that Josh loves them as much as I do. Melvin's has been around as long as I can remember and are still delicious. We went to a nearby town that night - to the mall and ate at Outback. We had a good visit and of course, Angel LOVED being with Grandma and Aunt Issa.
