Today we attended Ryan's 4th birthday party at Chuckie Cheese. Angel had a great time. She really got into the whole token game deal and of course, turning in her tickets at the end for cheap toys!
Today I was able to attend Angel's field day at school. They had a gret time - hey, what's better than an hour and a half of running, jumping, scooting, laughing, cheering topped off by tug of war. I helped out a little bit but was mostly able to follow Angel's class around to each event and take pix. Here are a few:
Today we met some friends at the beach to fly kites. Well it turned out to be very chilly and windy at the beach. Our kite flying was short-lived and we headed for dinner. Windy day! Trying to fly the kite Beach bums Dinner out Posing on the Jaguar
I was so glad I could make it to book club this month! It was so much fun and so theraputic. We eat, drink, laugh, such a great group of women. This month we read The Fortune Cookie Chronicles by Jennifer 8. Lee. In light of the topic, we ordered Chinese food at the book club to enjoy together. We did actually discuss the book also!
Ok I am back posting this but just trying to catch up. When I picked Angel up from school on St. Patrick's Day, this is what she had on. I just started cracking up, it was so funny and cute.
Later today our friends E and E and their Mom and Aunt J. came over for a while. We ordered Chinese food, ate, talked, the girls played. Here they are teaching Angel a cheer move.
Today Angel ran in the local River Run 1 mile fun run. She had a blast and did great. I told her that I had to run/walk with her since it was a mile and I wasn't sure of the route. I think I held her back, she kept saying "Hurry up Mom". The River Run is a 15K run that has taken place for several years. We went with K and C and met some other friends there as well.
Today my little girl woke up complaining of a sore throat. Thankfully, I decided to take her to the doctor right away. Yep, strep. We were given meds and off we went. Of course, she couldn't go to school so I worked from home. Later in the day we went outside to let her burn off some energy. She didn't act sick at all!! My friend had picked up a couple of little kits to plant flowers from her church so we broke these out and planted them.
Tonight we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters. I have always wanted to see them and I figured the kids would like them too. They did and we had a great time. The opposing team even had Dan Hicken try to help them win. For those of you not from around here, Dan Hicken is a local sportscaster.
I am a single mom of two, a bio son and my daughter, adopted from China in May 07. She is from Yibin in Sichuan province. This blog is in lieu of scrapbooks and will document our journey through life. Come along with us!
