Memorial Day weekend

First of all, thanks to all our military men and women who protect us daily. We really appreciate it.

Well we started the weekend with a spring football game Friday night for Josh's school.

Then Saturday we went to Raina's house for a book swap/lunch/pool playdate. It was a great idea and the kids really loved picking out their books.

Saturday night we went to a friends surprise birthday party.

Sunday morning bright and early, we met up with friends at the beach.

Later Josh, Angel and I went to the Suns game. It was a lot of fun, even though the Sun's lost. We watched the fireworks after the game.

And let's not forget the best entertainment of the weekend, from Angel and Kimberly:

Busy weekend!

Well this weekend was busy. Friday night was book club. I think we broke the record for attandance and everyone had a great time. Thanks for Kim for hosting.

Me and Melissa

Saturday was our last Chinese lesson for the summer. However, Ms. Jenny is hosting some weekly camps during the summer and Angel will attend one of those. We are excited about that.

Saturday afternoon, we helped Miss Hannah celebrate her 2nd birthday. There was a bouncy house and small train for the kids to enjoy. They all had a blast and we were so happy to help celebrate Hannah's first birthday home from China.

Sunday we had two birthdays to attend. First we helped Catherine celebrate her 5th bday at Oala Koalas. We had never been there and Angel enjoyed playing the games.

Later we attended Naia's 7th birthday party at Build a Bear! Angel picked a Velveteen Rabbit and dressed it in a karate outfit.

Today we celebrated Angel's birthday with friends and family with a pool party. The weather was perfect and I think everyone had a good time. I know Angel did.

3 Years as a family

On this day three years ago Josh and I met our Angel for the first time. I can't believe it has been only three years but it also seems like she has been with us forever. I usually get Angel something adoption/chinese Chinese Adoption. This year I got a Grace Lin book "The Red Thread".

Happy 7th Birthday to my Angel

Today Angel turned 7 years old. She started the day but getting out of bed on her own and singing Happy Birthday to herself. Very cute. We took donuts in at snack time to her classroom.

I had been asking her what she wanted to do for her birthday and she kept saying, go to the pool and eat pizza. Well that sounded strangely like what we were doing for her party - on Sunday. But anyway, that is what we did. After I picked her up from school, we headed to the pool for a while. Then back home to make some pizzas. Our friend Jennifer joined us for dinner. After eating, we had some cupcakes and then Angel opened her gifts from us. I think she liked everything she got and had a good time.

I can't help but think of her birth family in China and wish I could let them know what a wonderful little girl she is!

She finally loses 2 teeth...

with the help of the dentist. The way the teeth were growing in, they weren't pushing the baby teeth out so the dentist had to pull them. So, one day before she turned 7, Angel finally got a visit from the tooth fairy.

Mother's Day

Angel's classroom had a very nice Mother's Day celebration. It was a spa day! The kids massaged our shoulders and gave us a hand rub with lotion. We had a snack and the kids sang 3 songs. We also had some homemade cards and such. What a wonderful Mother's Day.
